Assistant Chartering Manager

Our client is a multinational shipping company that operates a niche fleet of carriers across APAC region. They currently have a new and exciting position for an Assistant Chartering Manager to join their team to support the company Director. Our client is open to reviewing candidates who have qualified chartering experience as well as juniors with a background in shipping and logistics who they will groom into the role.

The primary purpose of the position is to provide :
• Support to the Chartering Manager for the securing of cargoes.
•Provide a wide range of expertise covering operational as well as chartering duties.
•Supply voyage orders together with stowage advice for the vessels.
•Liaise with clients and discuss cargo requirements with them.
•Obtain an understanding of how chemical tankers operate.

Working within a small team environment, you will need to cover a number of areas inclusive of operations, documentation, contracts and chartering. Strong skills in negotiation and account management are imperative for this position coupled with a mature mindset and aptitude for numbers.

To be considered you must have:
•Current Victorians Drivers Licence
•Able to pass the required federal police check to obtain a MSIC card
•Past experience in shipping and/or transportation.
