Our client is a fast-growing global food brand with a vision to be market leaders in the product segments that they play in.  Working for them will give you the opportunity to work in a fast paced environment with an FMCG company that has global exposure and cares about their people and the wider community.

They are on the lookout for a newly created General Manager of Legal to join their team in a full-time capacity just outside Melbourne’s CBD. You will be managing all things legal, compliance and governance and no day will be the same for you.


Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing of legal governance and management of compliance and regulatory bodies
  • Negotiating and preparing legal agreements i.e., supplier, manufacturing, IT, sponsorship, distribution and all third-party tenders and contracts
  • Preparation of tender documents
  • Develop and update precedents for local and international teams
  • Work closely with supply chain, finance, sales, and internal stakeholders for legal and contracts agreement execution
  • Supervision of internal trademark portfolio and compliance systems
  • Assist with all administrative and board requirements
  • Become the trusted business partner in guiding procurement and tendering processes
  • Management and provision of strategic advice and guidance to ensure commercial outcomes are optimised
  • Assist and work closely with HR and Recruitment team

The successful candidate will display the following attributes:

  • 10+ years post admission experience in an in-house legal role – ideally FMCG or manufacturing
  • Hold a current practicing certificate
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Mandarin speaking skills highly regarded but not essential
