Offering a range of services across the Freight Forwarding and International Logistics space, this global organisation’s success is backed by their decades of industry experience and their ability to adapt to this fast-paced and evolving market. Spanning across multiple Australian and International locations, our client has built a passionate and dedicated global network in which they can draw upon to service their diverse and widespread client base. An opportunity has now arisen for an experienced import operator to join this successful organisation.

As an import operator, you will be responsible for the coordination of air and seafreight movements, with a strong focus on project cargo. This will be a hands-on operations role, handling the full end to end process to ensure that your clients’ needs are met, and their expectations exceeded. Daily duties may include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Job registrations, track and trace
  • Liaising with airlines, shipping lines and any other relevant government bodies
  • Coordination of AQIS inspections
  • Liaising with customs team to ensure clearance of cargo, arranging import documentation
  • Build and maintain genuine customer relationships through timely and accurate customer contact
  • Arranging cartage/ delivery of cargo once cleared
  • Invoicing functions

To be successful in this position, you will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position, handling general or project cargo, within an international freight forwarding environment. You will take pride in the quality of your work and complete tasks with a strict attention to detail. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills are essential. Previous, practical experience using ICS and Cyberfreight software systems would also be beneficial.
