Our client are a local manufacturer of a niche commodity with a global representation, looking for an experienced Purchasing Officer to join their head office in Melbourne's inner suburbs.

Working within a small & friendly team environment, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring inventory and stock levels
  • Analysing and preparing forecasts
  • Assisting with SOPs
  • Reporting and conducting supplier evaluations 
  • Liaising with external suppliers and stakeholders
  • Assisting warehouse staff with ordering enquiries 
  • Raising purchase orders both on a domestic and international scale
  • Monitoring stock movement
  • Following up on order status
  • Monitoring the import shipping process and estimating freight costs
  • Ad hoc administrative and customer service responsibilities 

To be successful in this role, candidates must display the following attributes:

  • Great written and verbal communication skills
  • Excel experience is highly regarded 
  • High attention to detail and accuracy 
  • 3 + years of local and international purchasing experience
