About the Role
This is a senior Cartage Coordinator position suited to someone with solid industry experience who can confidently manage the final stage of the international supply chain.
 
The role will be approximately 70% sea freight cartage (FCL & LCL), with the remaining portion supporting air freight movements during peak periods or team leave.
 
You will be responsible for coordinating deliveries, managing transport providers, liaising with shipping lines and internal departments, and ensuring shipments are handled efficiently and profitably.
 
This role requires ownership, commercial awareness, and the ability to problem-solve under pressure.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate predominantly sea freight cartage (FCL & LCL)
• Manage transport bookings and wharf time slot allocations
• Liaise daily with customs, operations, and warehouse teams
• Communicate with carriers, transport companies, suppliers and clients
• Monitor customs status and ensure compliance requirements are met
• Ensure all jobs are completed accurately and profitably
• Proactively manage delays, changes, and escalations

Skills & Experience Required

• Minimum 5+ years' experience in Freight Forwarding
• Strong sea freight cartage experience essential
• Experience using Cargowise (CW1) highly regarded
• Solid understanding of Australian Customs processes
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership
