Job PurposeThe Manufacturing and Distribution Assistant supports the daily operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring production efficiency, quality control, and adherence to safety standards. This role is integral to the smooth functioning of the facility, assisting in production, maintaining equipment, managing inventory, and supporting logistical operations.
Key Responsibilities - Assist in manufacturing products according to SOPs and under the direction of the Manufacturing and Distribution Manager.
- Provide guidance and oversight to casual workers, ensuring adherence to safe work practices.
- Formulate products accurately using batch calculators and maintain detailed formulation records.
- Maintain and repair equipment and plant; report any issues or breakdowns immediately.
- Manage inventory and stock, including participation in all stocktakes.
- Oversee the receipt, preparation, and dispatch of all goods.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, promote a safe working environment and ensure all activities comply with industry standards.
- Liaise with transport operators and coordinate logistics, ensuring the seamless supply of products.
- Display a willingness to be flexible in response to production demands.
- Support the evolving needs of the business, including the development of SOPs and SDSs.
Role Requirements: - Mechanical aptitude with the ability to assist with fabrication and maintenance tasks.
- Computer literacy, especially with MS Office suite of software.
- Strong attention to detail, timeliness, and a proactive approach to reporting.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Self-starter with a "can-do" attitude, able to manage competing priorities in a team environment.
- Ability to guide, train, and supervise casual staff.
- Physical ability to undertake manual tasks and an understanding of product formulation, including basic chemistry.
- A valid driver's license and access to transport.
Desirable: - Experience in formulation and manufacturing.
- Familiarity with document-sharing environments.
- Queensland forklift license, or ability to attain one.
- Advanced first aid and resuscitation certification.
- Working at heights and confined spaces certifications.
