Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Negotiate Freight Forwarder rates and contractual payment terms for all sea, air and land routes, domestic and international, ensuring freight rate tables are current at all times in relevant systems.
- Point of account escalations for import and export operations teams, also working closely with sales teams to deliver best-cost solutions.
- Partner management - Be the primary contact with transport providers, negotiate contracts, monitor performance, and address any issues promptly, based on compliance, cost, efficiency of service and suitability.
- Quality and continuous improvement - maintain a mindset of continuous improvement, bringing recommendations to management, and other internal forums, to improve efficiency and service delivery, leveraging data analytics for informed decision-making.
About you:
- 3 years+ experience with freight management, contract negotiation, vendor management with proven analytical success.
- Experience in meat, dairy, FMCG industries highly desired
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Proficient with ERM systems and a willingness to improve efficiency -Microsoft Dynamics and / or BSM favourably.
- Must possess a continuous improvement, growth mindset, with proven performance in freight and logistics analysis.
- Strong commercial acumen with a key focus on relationships.
