Pace have partnered with a globally renowned manufacturer of niche products within the industrial space, for this critical & imperative senior vacancy. They are on the hunt for an operationally focused procurement & contracts manager to join their permanent fixture and uphold their desire for excellent customer service. 

This role has a strong emphasis and focus on operational experience and understanding, coupled with deep knowledge of the local transport and logistics network. You will have ideally worked within a manufacturing environment and understand LEAN principles and continuous improvement initiatives. You will also be a strong negotiator with commercial acumen and supplier management, to forge strong relationships with existing and new 3rd party providers. 

Your responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:

• Management of all negotiation and relationships on a national scale, with warehouse & transport providers utilised by our client
• Work closely with internal stakeholders - sales, customer service & senior management to ensure that customer excellence is being achieved through best practice 
• Ensure cohesion with providers & leverage internal platforms, CRMs and technology (SAP) coupled with hands on operational involvement as required
• Problem solve + dispute resolution 
• Assist and make recommendations for seamless partnerships with providers 

In order to be successful in this role, you will display the following attributes:

• Strong commercial acumen & negotiation skills
• At least 10+ years in a similar role, ideally within an industrial environment
• A manufacturing / engineering / supply chain degree is desirable
• Strong computer knowledge - ideally SAP
• APICS qualification is highly regarded
• Understanding of LEAN. 5S, Six Sigma and other CI principles
• Strong leadership skills
