The Client

Privately owned Australian freight and customs business with a national presence and global reach to all parts of the globe and ability to move all types of cargo required by their clientele. Strong WFH flex for all staff that require it, free parking, two story building with 25 staff and a management team that have collectively been with the business for nearly 100 years. Based in the busy hub of Tullamarine, walking distance to restaurants and cafes, as well as a coffee truck that comes by the office each morning.

The Role

Looking after your own portfolio of clients cargo from overseas supplier to local client delivery. You will be part of the clients supply chain the whole way through to allow you the ability to know every single part of the journey and be able to troubleshoot at any given moment. Organising through overseas agents and suppliers all sea and air cargo (mainly import sea) movements into Melbourne, sending notifications to clients for updates, cargo automations, invoicing and finally organising local delivery through transport company. While there is also some export operational duties, this can be trained up, but is still a mainly imports focused role.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Routings and bookings for all air and sea cargo into Melbourne
• Notifications and alerts sent to clients
• Cargo automation
• FCL, LCL & Air Cartage bookings
• Chasing up documentation from agents and suppliers
• Building rapport with all carriers, lines, agents, clients and suppliers

Skills & Experience

• Freight Forwarding background
• ICOTERMS understanding
• Cartage skills
• Import/Export Air/Sea Operational skills
• Cargowise exposure
• Time management & prioritisation mindset
