Our client provides international freight forwarding, customs clearance and transport services to a diverse client base. Due to ongoing growth and success, an opportunity has arisen within their Melbourne branch for a suitably experienced Cartage Coordinator to join their team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, key areas of responsibility will include:
- Booking cargo movement with carriers
- Liaising with clients regarding their deliveries
- Chasing COD payments from clients to ensure delivery timeframes are met
- Checking FCL and LCL availabilities in 1Stop and online
- Chasing up empty container returns to ensure detention charges are not incurred
- Liaise with other freight forwarders and shipping lines regarding charges
- Entering invoices to allow the Accounts Team to make timely payments
- Check and approve cartage costs
This is a full time permanent position working Monday to Friday which can also offer WFH 2 Days a week and will continue on an ongoing basis, but requires a committed, reliable individual who is proactive, organised, understands the importance of a good work ethic and can bring a professional, friendly and helpful manner to a fast paced environment.
To be considered for this position you must have previous Cartage FCL / LCL experience gained specifically within International Freight Forwarding environment, with a minimum 3-5 years in a hands on Cartage role.
