Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, the Export Manager oversees the Export Operations Team and the end-to-end management of export shipments, including sea freight, air freight, hazardous goods, and dry cargo. The role is responsible for ensuring export processes run efficiently, meet regulatory requirements, and deliver a high level of service to customers. Success in this position requires strong leadership, attention to operational excellence, and a focus on continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support the Export Operations team to ensure smooth daily operations.
Oversee the processing of export shipments including sea freight, air freight, hazardous goods, and general cargo.
Ensure shipments and documentation are completed accurately and in line with company procedures and regulations.
Review and approve job files and ensure timely closure and billing.
Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to team members.
Monitor team performance and key operational targets.
Identify and implement improvements to processes and operational efficiency.
Act as the escalation point for client queries or operational issues.
Work closely with sales, suppliers, transport providers, and overseas agents to coordinate shipments.
Ensure high standards of service, compliance, and operational accuracy are maintained.
Salary and Perks:
$100,000 - $120,000 + Super
Qualifications and Experience:
Strong knowledge of air and sea export freight operations, including hazardous cargo.
Understanding of export documentation, Incoterms, and trade compliance.
Leadership experience within freight forwarding or logistics.
Experience with CargoWise One and Microsoft Office preferred.
Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
5–10 years’ experience in freight forwarding or logistics operations.
Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
