Position Overview:
The Import Air Freight Operator is responsible for coordinating and managing international air import shipments from arrival through to final delivery. Using Cargowise, the role ensures accurate documentation, timely customs clearance, and high-quality service delivery to clients, airlines, and internal stakeholders.
  
Key Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end processing of air import shipments using Cargowise
Monitor shipment status from pre-alert through to final delivery
Register and update job files accurately within Cargowise
Arrange customs clearance and liaise with customs brokers where required
Coordinate deliveries with transport providers and warehouses
Check and process shipping documentation (HAWB, MAWB, invoices, packing lists)
Ensure compliance with Australian customs and biosecurity regulations
Communicate proactively with clients, overseas agents, airlines, and service providers
Track and report shipment milestones and exceptions
Manage billing, cost accruals, and invoicing within Cargowise
Resolve shipment issues, delays, or discrepancies efficiently
Maintain accurate records and filing in line with company procedures
  
Qualifications and Experience:
Previous experience in air freight imports in freight forwarding
Strong working knowledge of Cargowise (essential)
Understanding of Australian customs procedures and regulations
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines
Problem-solving mindset and ability to work under pressure
