Our client is a successful, progressive, modern forwarder with an experienced team and a strong client base. Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced import sea operator to join their Tullamarine team.
We are seeking a proactive Import Sea Operator to manage end-to-end shipments, coordinate with shipping lines, customs brokers, and overseas agents, and ensure smooth cargo flow. You’ll work closely with clients and internal teams to handle documentation, tracking, and day-to-day operations while delivering reliable and efficient service.”
  
Position Overview:
Experienced Import Sea Operator required to manage end-to-end shipments and ensure smooth, timely import operations
  
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate import FCL and LCL sea freight shipments
Manage import sea freight job registrations and end-to-end file setup
Book space with shipping lines and coordinate cargo movements
Prepare and process shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading and customs paperwork
Ensure compliance with Australian Customs and import regulations
Track shipments and provide proactive updates to clients
Arrange and manage cartage and delivery requirements
Resolve shipment delays, discrepancies, and operational issues
Liaise with clients, shipping lines, transport providers, and overseas agents
Manage freight costs, charges, and job profitability
Generate and issue customer invoices
Prepare cargo reports and review underbond status
  
Salary and Perks:
Based on experience $75k-$85k
  
Qualifications and Experience:
To be considered for this position applicants must have recent import sea freight experience gained specifically within the international freight forwarding industry. Cargowise Essential
