Pace VIC are excited to be partnering with one of Australia’s leading food businesses spanning manufacturing, importing, exporting and wholesaling, on the lookout for an experienced Buyer. Our client operates in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is seeking a commercially astute and ambitious professional to join their five-person procurement team.

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, this role will focus on managing procurement activities across multiple international suppliers, driving process efficiency, and supporting strategic sourcing initiatives. The successful candidate will possess the drive and ambition to step into a future leadership role, making this a career-defining role for a motivated Buyer ready to take the next step.

What will your day look like?

• Manage procurement across a diverse network of suppliers across Asia and selected global markets.
• Oversee purchasing across multiple seafood categories to ensure supply security, quality, and commercial competitiveness.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiating commercial terms and driving continuous improvement.
• Identify new sourcing opportunities, products and markets to enhance category performance.
• Lead initiatives that optimise procurement processes, systems and outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams to deliver on cost, quality and service targets.

What skills will you bring?

• Proven background in commodity buying or procurement, ideally within food or related sectors.
• Strong commercial acumen with advanced negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Ability to operate autonomously, take ownership and deliver results in a fast-moving environment.
• High level of systems literacy (SAP experience highly regarded).
• Demonstrated leadership potential and ambition to progress into management.
• Culturally aware, collaborative, and respectful working style suited to a global, team-focused environment
