Pace VIC are proud to partner with a well-established, global manufacturing organisation with a strong focus on sustainability. They are now seeking an experienced HSE Officer to join their manufacturing site in Melbourne’s western suburbs.

This is a varied, standalone role. You will drive a safety-first culture across the site and also coordinate the business’s product recycling program from start to finish. It suits someone who enjoys getting out on the floor as much as working with external partners.

About the role
This is a full-time position reporting to the Plant Manager, where you will be:
  • Leading safety training, inductions and toolbox talks, and promoting PPE compliance and 5S housekeeping
  • Conducting audits, inspections and risk assessments, and driving corrective actions
  • Investigating incidents and recommending preventive measures to leadership
  • Supporting workers’ compensation and return-to-work processes
  • Chairing the site safety committee and maintaining HSE records and reporting
  • Coordinating the product recycling program end to end, including client liaison, compliance checks, freight and contractor coordination, pricing, invoicing and monthly reporting
  • Building strong relationships with recycling processors and service providers
About you
  • Proven experience in an HSE, WHS or EHS role within manufacturing or an industrial environment
  • Experience delivering safety training, conducting inspections and investigating incidents
  • Exposure to workers’ compensation and RTW processes highly regarded
  • Experience in ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 aligned systems, or with waste and recycling programs, advantageous
  • Strong organisational and stakeholder skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Australian working rights essential
