Are you a numbers-driven professional with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for financial analysis? Our client, a leading equipment distributor based in Dandenong South, is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join their dynamic finance team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and commercially minded accountant to play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and business performance analysis—supporting both operational and strategic decisions across the business.

About the role:
Reporting to the Finance Manager and working closely with the CFO, you’ll take ownership of key financial processes including:

• Producing accurate and timely management reports and performance analysis
• Assisting with the development of budgets, rolling forecasts, and financial models
• Partnering with business units to provide financial insights and support strategic decisions
• Contributing to system and process improvements across the finance function
• Analysing results and highlighting opportunities for process or cost improvements
• Ensuring compliance with financial policies, procedures, and controls
• Collaborating with auditors and assisting in audit preparation
• Playing a hands-on role in the month-end and year-end close processes
• Identifying ways to improve financial systems and reporting accuracy

About you: 
We’re seeking someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and brings a strong foundation in financial planning and analysis. The ideal candidate will have:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the manufacturing, wholesale or distribution sectors
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• Progress towards or completion of CPA, CA, or CIMA
• Proficiency in financial software (SAP or equivalent) and advanced Excel skills. Power BI would be highly regarded. 
• Strong analytical thinking with a high attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, particularly in explaining financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
