We're partnering with a well-established international manufacturer of LED lighting to find a Business Development Manager for Northern NSW. My client designs and manufactures commercial, residential and retail lighting products and has operated across multiple international markets for several decades. They're known for quality products, long-term thinking and a culture that backs its people.
This is a genuine growth role, not a "keep the lights on" account management job. You'll cover a broad regional territory that takes in Newcastle, the Hunter Valley, the Central Coast, the Mid-North Coast and North-West NSW.
The role works across two sides of the market. You'll build partnerships with electrical wholesalers, and you'll also get in front of electrical contractors and end users to create demand that flows back through the wholesale channel.
About the Role: - Planning and managing your territory proactively, balancing existing accounts with new business
- Strengthening relationships with wholesale branches and growing share of spend
- Engaging contractors, specifiers and end users to drive pull-through sales
- Lifting brand awareness and presence across the region
- Running your pipeline end to end, from prospecting and quoting through to closing orders
- Turning around quotes and enquiries quickly and professionally
- Feeding market insights and customer feedback back into the business to support product development
- Delivering against sales targets and KPIs
About You: Lighting or electrical wholesale experience is a bonus, but it's not a must. My client is just as keen to hear from high-performing B2B salespeople with backgrounds in:
- Trade, construction or technical product sales
- Distribution, wholesale or channel-based models
- Contractor-facing field sales
- Businesses that sell through intermediaries while also engaging end users
- Consultative, relationship-driven sales environments
You'll also bring:
- A proven track record in field sales, business development or account management
- The commercial sense to plan a territory and prioritise where the growth is
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- The organisation and discipline to work autonomously across a large region
- A professional, dependable approach and a team-first attitude
- A current driver's licence with a clean record
You're commercially driven and motivated by growth, and you're excited by the idea of building a territory rather than just maintaining one.
