This hands on role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys variety and full ownership of the finance function. You’ll ensure financial accuracy, manage compliance and reporting, and provide insights to support key business decisions across budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow.
Key Responsibilities - Manage the full cycle of accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payments, and debtor management.
- Process international and multi-currency transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Reconcile corporate credit cards and oversee employee expense claims.
- Monitor, analyse, and forecast cash flow to support business planning.
- Conduct multi-currency bank reconciliations.
- Prepare timely and accurate month-end reports, including profit & loss statements and variance analysis.
- Maintain up-to-date balance sheet reconciliations and manage prepayment schedules.
- Prepare and lodge BAS and GST returns in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Oversee the payroll function, ensuring compliance with superannuation, leave entitlements, and statutory obligations.
- Maintain and improve internal financial controls and operational accounting procedures.
- Assist with the implementation and ongoing management of CargoWise financial modules.
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and consultants as needed.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making.
Key Requirements: - Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Business-related studies.
- CPA or CA qualification highly desirable.
- Proven experience in accounting or financial control within a freight forwarding environment.
- Solid understanding of BAS and tax compliance obligations.
- Strong reconciliation, financial reporting, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated experience with international payments and multi-currency transactions.
- Proficiency with CargoWise financial systems.
