They are seeking a CNC Specialist with advanced skills in programming, reading schematics, and precision machining. This is a dynamic role where you’ll work on complex and challenging components, from heavy-duty rail parts to high-precision mining machinery, with opportunities to take full ownership of the machining process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program, set up, and operate 3-axis milling machines and CNC turning centres using Fanuc and Haas controllers.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics to produce highly accurate parts.
- Execute machining projects for Mining and Rail applications, ensuring durability, compliance, and precision.
- Operate manual equipment including lathes, radial drills, and other conventional machines when required.
- Perform quality checks using advanced measuring instruments, ensuring components meet tight tolerances.
- Develop and refine machining strategies across a variety of materials, predominantly steel and heavy alloys.
- Adjust feeds, speeds, and tooling selection for efficiency and performance optimisation.
- Work collaboratively across teams to meet production schedules and client requirements.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Ideal Candidate:
- Proven track record programming and operating CNC milling/turning machines (Fanuc & Haas).
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering schematics and complex technical drawings.
- Previous experience machining components for Mining or Rail industries (highly regarded).
- Hands-on ability with manual machining equipment.
- In-depth knowledge of machining strategies, tooling, and material behaviours.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, accuracy, and quality standards.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
