Pace Appointments is seeking an experienced and driven Engineering Manager to join a well-established manufacturing business and lead its engineering and maintenance operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong people leader to oversee multidisciplinary maintenance teams, drive continuous improvement initiatives and play a pivotal role in ensuring operational reliability, safety and efficiency across the site.

The Opportunity

Reporting to senior leadership, you will take responsibility for the site's engineering and maintenance functions, providing both strategic direction and operational leadership.
You will oversee the Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance teams through their respective managers, ensuring all maintenance activities, projects and resources are aligned with business goals and operational requirements.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all engineering and maintenance functions across the site
• Provide leadership, coaching and support to Electrical, Mechanical and Maintenance leaders
• Oversee preventative and reactive maintenance programs
• Ensure all engineering activities meet safety, quality, environmental and compliance standards
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and plant performance
• Manage engineering and maintenance projects from planning through to successful implementation
• Monitor maintenance KPIs, budgets and resource allocation
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and industry regulations
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies, reduce costs and minimise downtime
• Foster a strong safety culture and promote engineering best practice across all teams

About You 

• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager, or similar leadership position
• Experience within manufacturing, food processing, production, industrial or high-risk environments
• Strong technical knowledge across mechanical and electrical maintenance disciplines
• Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams through frontline managers and supervisors
• Strong project management and problem-solving capabilities
• A proactive approach to continuous improvement and operational excellence
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills
• A strong commitment to safety, compliance and quality standards
• Engineering qualifications and Trade qualifications
