About the Role

An opportunity exists for an experienced Export Operations Leader to oversee and support a busy export function, primarily focused on sea freight.
 
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will:

• Lead and train a busy AM team handling overseas export enquiries
• Oversee a PM team focused on local export customers
• Support quoting, customer relationship management, and service delivery
• Re-engage and strengthen relationships with several long-term key accounts

The role requires strong operational capability, leadership presence, and commercial awareness. You will be responsible for ensuring service levels remain high while developing team capability and improving customer engagement.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Oversee predominantly sea freight export operations
• Train, mentor, and develop export team members
• Manage overseas agent enquiries and coordination
• Support local export customers with service and quoting
• Build and nurture long-term key client relationships
• Ensure accurate, compliant, and profitable export shipments
• Drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement

About You

• 5+ years' experience in export operations (sea freight essential)
• Previous leadership or senior operator experience
• Strong knowledge of export documentation and processes
• Commercial mindset with quoting experience
• Excellent customer relationship management skills
• Ability to lead from the front in a busy environment
