An established, privately owned business with more than three decades in commercial and industrial construction is seeking a Finance Officer to join its close-knit finance team.

The role This is a hands on, end to end position where accuracy matters, including when the pressure is on. You'll own the full accounts payable and accounts receivable cycles and play a central role in keeping the finance function running smoothly.
Key responsibilities - Full accounts payable cycle, creditor master records, credit applications, and accurate processing of invoices, credit notes and subcontractor progress/retention claims (using invoice scanning software);
- Reconciling creditor statements, managing payment runs and ensuring creditors are paid on time;
- Administering the company credit card process and assisting with annual TPR reporting;
- Full accounts receivable cycle, maintaining debtor master records, client invoicing and processing client credit card payments;
- Actively monitoring the debtor ledger;
- Actioning internal and external AP and AR queries;
- Maintaining client and subcontractor security registers;
- Month end support, plus journals and reconciliations (bank and general ledger);
- Preparing financial reports as required;
- Driving continuous improvement across finance processes with key stakeholders, and general office duties as needed.
What you'll bring - Proven experience within the construction industry (mandatory);
- Certificate IV or Diploma level finance qualification;
- A minimum of 5 years dedicated AP and AR experience within a medium-sized business;
- Strong time management and a track record of meeting deadlines;
- Confident written and verbal communication for liaising with internal and external stakeholders;
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook);
- Exposure to Jobpac, Xero or other construction-based software is advantageous, though not essential.

Hours are slightly flexible though is all in office: Monday to Friday, either 7:00am–3:30pm or 8:00am–4:30pm.
