An exciting opportunity exists for a highly experienced Import / Export Freight Forwarding Operations Specialist to join their team. This role requires a confident freight professional with 5+ years' experience, a strong export background, sound import knowledge, and the ability to manage the complete forwarding process from quotation through to final delivery.

This is not just a processing role - we are seeking a critical thinker who can identify solutions, manage customer expectations, and contribute to ongoing improvements across operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end international import and export shipments from initial quote through to final delivery
• Prepare accurate customer quotations, negotiate rates, and provide tailored logistics solutions
• Coordinate bookings, documentation, shipment tracking, customs requirements, and transport arrangements
• Liaise with customers, overseas agents, shipping lines, airlines, transport providers, and internal stakeholders
• Manage job costing, invoicing, and ensure files are completed accurately and efficiently
• Proactively resolve shipment challenges and provide outstanding customer service
• Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and drive efficiencies

About You

• Minimum 5 years' experience in international freight forwarding operations
• Strong expertise in exports with a good working knowledge of import operations
• Proven experience preparing quotations and understanding freight rates, margins, and commercial outcomes
• Ability to independently manage shipments from origin to final delivery
• A solutions-focused, critical thinker who thrives on solving complex logistics challenges
• Strong understanding of operational processes, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy
• A genuine team player with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• CargoWise experience essential
