A rare opportunity for a proactive industry professional is now available to be based both in office and on site with major client in key liaison role.
Responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate import seafreight shipments from origin to final delivery
- Negotiate competitive freight rates to meet client and margin expectations
- Liaison with overseas agents, shipping lines, transport providers and internal teams
- Maintain integrity with shipment records and ensure compliance with industry regulations
- Manage documentation, cargo reporting, and coordinate timely and accurate clearance with customs brokers
- Monitoring vessel arrivals and container availability, providing client updates on shipment status
- Cultivate lasting client partnerships through proactive, reliable support and efficient problem solving
What you’ll need:
- 5+ years experience working in a freight forwarding environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a client-first mindset
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Professional, adaptable, with the ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment
- Proficient with Cargowise software
