Managing a portfolio of your own clients, day-to-day tasks will include –
- Undertake customs valuation, classification, and final entry lodgement
- Calculate duties and taxes payable and arrange for payments on behalf of client
- Applying for tariff concessions including preparing refund/duty drawbacks
- Regularly liaise with clients to provide advice and up to date information affecting their business relating to tariff classification of goods, rates of duty, tariff concession orders, methods of valuation and origin requirements of the Customs Act
- Overseeing daily activities of compilers/classifiers while mentoring and developing junior team members
- Remain CPD compliant and up to date with ABF and DAFF industry changes and trends
- Build and maintain professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
Professional in your approach and presentation you will be a confident team player with effective communication skills, ability to prioritise and multitask with strong attention to detail. Display a comprehensive history of working within Australian Customs processes and protocols and a thorough understanding of documentation and regulatory requirements. Ideally, you will have experience with EDI/Cargowise, refunds, FTA and drawbacks.
