An experienced Customs Broker is sought to join a well-established Brisbane freight forwarding operation as part of a close-knit Customs team. This is a rare opportunity to step into a respected position, taking over from a long-serving broker who is retiring after decades with the business. 

Working alongside another licensed broker and supported by an experienced operations team, you'll take ownership of a genuine Customs Broker role focused on providing advice, ensuring compliance and managing customs clearances - not simply processing entries. 

With approximately 100 entries per week across a diverse range of commodities, you'll enjoy exposure to imports from China, Europe and the USA while working in a business that values quality over volume. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and lodge import declarations
• Process Tariff Advice (TA) and Tariff Concession (TC) applications
• Provide customs advice to internal stakeholders and clients
• Ensure compliance with Australian Border Force regulations
• Assist in mentoring and sharing knowledge within the Customs team
• Work collaboratively with Operations to ensure efficient cargo clearance

About You:

You'll be a licensed Customs Broker who enjoys the technical side of the role and takes pride in delivering accurate advice and exceptional service. Comfortable with working autonomously, you're equally happy sharing your knowledge and supporting those around you. 

You'll also bring: 

• Current Australian Customs Broker License
• Strong knowledge of tariff classifications and Australian Customs legislation
• Confidence in providing advice to clients and internal stakeholders on customs compliance and import requirements
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
