We are currently seeking a trade-qualified Electrician to join a well-established abattoir facility. This role will see you responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems across plant, machinery, and production equipment in a fast-paced processing environment.

Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Repairs - Carry out routine electrical maintenance, breakdown repairs, and fault finding
- Maintain and repair motors, control panels, switchboards, and automated equipment
- Diagnose faults using testing equipment and interpret results accurately
- Conduct regular inspections to identify risks or wear
- Respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime and maintain production
Installation & Project Work - Assist with installation, commissioning, and relocation of equipment
- Support shutdowns, upgrades, and improvement projects
- Work collaboratively with fitters, engineers, and contractors
- Install and modify cabling, components, and control systems
- Ensure work is completed in line with production schedules
Compliance & Safety - Ensure all work complies with Australian standards and site regulations
- Follow strict hygiene and sanitation protocols within processing areas
- Adhere to WHS procedures, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition
About You - Trade qualified Electrician with current licences
- Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments (food processing highly regarded)
- Strong background in maintenance, fault finding, and repairs
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Understanding of safety and hygiene requirements in regulated environments
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
- Reliable, adaptable, and able to work in a team or autonomously
Working Environment - Exposure to cold, wet, and high-humidity conditions
- Working around active production lines and machinery
- Use of PPE and protective clothing required
- Occasional after-hours or weekend work during shutdowns
Important Requirement - Must be willing to obtain a Q Fever vaccination (required for working within an abattoir environment)
