Maintenance Fitters — Multiple Permanent Roles | Caboolture QLD

We are currently recruiting multiple Mechanical Fitters / Fitters & Turners for two long-term opportunities within expanding industrial and manufacturing facilities based north of Brisbane.

These positions suit hands-on tradespeople who take pride in reliability, teamwork, and safe work practices — with the option to choose between a Lifestyle 12-Hour Shift Roster or a 4-on / 4-off Day Shift Roster.

Role 1 — Maintenance Fitter (Lifestyle Roster | 12-Hour Shifts)
This role plays a critical part in ensuring the efficiency, uptime and reliability of plant and equipment across a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Focus Areas

• Preventative & reliability maintenance programs
• Prompt response to breakdowns to minimise downtime
• Fault analysis, troubleshooting & rectification
• Working collaboratively with trades & apprentices
• Continuous improvement of maintenance processes
• Strict WHS, quality & safety compliance

Roster & Pay

• 24/7 rotating roster — days & nights
• 14 x 12-hour shifts compressed into 3 weeks
• Full 7-day rest week every 4 weeks
• Day Shift: 5am–5pm | Night Shift: 5pm–5am
• Loaded rate: $52.19 p/h during probation
• After 6 months → C8 Classification
  Loaded rate increases to $57.20 p/h

Experience in timber, pulp, shutdowns or heavy industrial machinery highly regarded.

Pre-employment D&A and functional capacity testing applies.

Role 2 — Fitter & Turner (4-On / 4-Off | Day Shift Only)
Join a stable, export-accredited food manufacturing facility undergoing major site upgrades and expansion.
Roster & Conditions

• 4 days on / 4 days off
• 10:00am – 6:00pm (7.6-hr shifts)
• Overtime paid after 9.5 hrs/day
• $45–$48 p/h + penalties + overtime
• $35-40 p/h for 4th-year apprentices

Key Responsibilities

• Preventative & breakdown maintenance on processing equipment
• Repair conveyors, saws, hydraulics & gearboxes
• Machining, welding & light fabrication as required
• Accurate maintenance reporting & documentation
• Safety, hygiene & quality compliance

What We’re Looking For (Both Roles)

• Certificate III — Mechanical Trade (Fitter & Turner / Fitter)
• Strong commitment to workplace health & safety
• Problem-solving & diagnostic capability
• Previous industrial, FMCG or manufacturing experience
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Basic computer literacy for maintenance systems
