Trade Qualified Maintenance Fitters and Electrical Fitter Mechanics to join the maintenance team, in a state of the art, highly automated food manufacturing facility!
The Opportunities These are hands-on maintenance positions covering
breakdown response, fault finding, repairs, preventative maintenance, servicing and shutdown work across a large food manufacturing facility.
You will work closely with production and maintenance teams to minimise downtime, identify the root causes of equipment failures and support continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Fitter
- Respond to machinery breakdowns and equipment faults.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment.
- Complete preventative maintenance and servicing of production equipment.
- Identify root causes of failures and implement longer-term solutions.
- Repair and replace machinery components.
- Assist with maintenance projects and shutdown activities.
- Communicate effectively with production and maintenance teams.
- Maintain high standards of safety, food safety and quality.
Electrical Fitter Mechanic - Perform preventative maintenance and servicing of production equipment.
- Fault find and repair electrical and automated machinery.
- Diagnose electrical faults and minimise production downtime.
- Repair and replace electrical and production machinery components.
- Assist with maintenance projects and shutdown activities.
- Work with PLC-controlled equipment, VSDs and automated production systems.
- Support production teams with timely maintenance assistance.
- Maintain compliance with electrical standards, WHS, food safety and company procedures.
About You
Mechanical To be successful, you will have:
- Recognised Mechanical Fitter / Fitter & Turner trade qualification.
- Current unrestricted Class C driver's licence.
- Industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with preventative maintenance systems.
- A strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work a rotating 12-hour roster, including days, nights and weekends.
Electrical We are looking for:
- Certificate III electrical qualification / Electrical Fitter Mechanic trade qualification.
- Minimum 5 years' industrial electrical experience, ideally within food manufacturing or a similar production environment.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with PLC systems – Allen Bradley and Siemens preferred.
- VSD/variable speed drive experience.
- Current driver's licence.
- High Risk Electrical Work Licence desirable.
- MEX or other Maintenance Management System experience desirable.
- Ability to work safely and effectively both independently and as part of a team.
