This is an opportunity to join an Australian-owned engineering company developing and delivering innovative industrial-scale carbonisation systems for clients in Australia and internationally.
About the Role You will work closely with our multidisciplinary engineering and project teams to design and develop mechanical equipment from concept through to fabrication, workshop assembly and onsite installation.
Your role will include: - Developing detailed mechanical designs using Autodesk Inventor
- Producing high-quality fabrication drawings, assemblies and plant layouts
- Developing designs from concept through to workshop fabrication and assembly
- Supporting workshop assembly and resolving practical design issues
- Assisting with onsite assembly, installation and commissioning where required
- Reviewing and refining designs to improve functionality, manufacturability and reliability
- Working through complex engineering and fabrication challenges to develop practical solutions
- Collaborating across mechanical, electrical, controls, civil, production and procurement disciplines
- Supporting domestic and potentially international project installations
This is a hands-on role where you won't simply be sitting behind a computer. You'll have the opportunity to see your designs progress from the drawing board, into the workshop and ultimately onto site.
About You We're looking for someone who enjoys design, problem solving and seeing practical outcomes.
You will ideally have: - Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical design/drafting or a similar role
- Demonstrated experience designing mechanical equipment
- Strong experience using Autodesk Inventor
- Experience producing fabrication drawings, assemblies and plant layouts
- An understanding of fabrication and workshop processes
- The ability to interpret engineering requirements and translate them into practical designs
- Strong attention to detail and a practical approach to problem solving
- The ability to work proactively within a small, multidisciplinary team
