Our client is a well-established Australian manufacturer running operations across 3 states and is a rare chance to set the maintenance and reliability agenda for a whole business, not just a site.

Why This Role?

• Salary: $180,000 – $210,000 + superannuation (commensurate with experience)
• Scope: National remit across all operational sites, reporting to the GM
• A clean slate: Newly created position — you build the strategy, standards and systems
• Stability: Permanent full time, Monday to Friday onsite with an established Australian business

Scope
Working across the group's portfolio and partnering closely with site leadership, you will own the group maintenance and reliability strategy, the maintenance system (MEX), and the standards each site works to — while leading site maintenance managers and supervisors, reliability and engineering staff, planning teams and specialist technician crews.

What You'll Be Doing

• Setting and delivering the national maintenance and reliability strategy;
• Lifting plant uptime, asset reliability and maintenance efficiency;
• Standardising maintenance processes, planning frameworks and reporting across sites;
• Setting and tracking KPIs for asset performance and maintenance effectiveness;
• Leading root cause analysis, defect elimination and plant performance reviews;
• Shifting teams from reactive work toward planned and predictive maintenance;
• Managing asset lifecycle, utilisation and cost of ownership;
• Providing technical input into capital projects, equipment selection and commissioning;
• Building capability and mentoring maintenance and engineering people nationally;
• Leading a safety-first culture, incident investigations and corrective actions.

Success Profile
Essential:

• Strong leadership experience in a maintenance, reliability or asset management role;
• Ability to set direction and lead technically across multiple sites and teams;
• Solid grounding in reliability practice — RCA, defect elimination, planned and predictive maintenance;
• Tertiary engineering qualification or relevant trade certification;
• Confident influencing operations, production and executive stakeholders;

Desirable:

• Previous national or multi-site experience is a bonus vs a mandate;
• Exposure to timber processing is highly regarded;
• Experience with MEX computerised maintenance management system is highly advantageous.;
