Pace Appointments is excited to partner with a well-established and growing Australian manufacturer to recruit an experienced Safety Officer. This full-time role offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact across multiple operational sites, championing a strong safety culture and driving continuous improvement initiatives. As a key member of the team, you will take ownership of workplace health and safety programs, ensuring compliance, reducing risk, and promoting best-practice safety standards across the business. Key Responsibilities - Manage reporting of incidents, near misses and hazards.
- Review SWMS, JSAs and chemical safety assessments.
- Perform daily safety walks, inspections, and PPE compliance checks
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate incident records and liaise with WHSQ for notifiable incidents.
- Manage emergency response training and liaise with emergency services.
- Lodge and manage WorkCover Queensland claims.
- Coordinate rehabilitation plans and suitable duties programs.
About You - Demonstrated WHS experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, codes of practice and regulatory obligations.
- Experience managing injury claims, WorkCover processes and RTW programs.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to deliver training and facilitate group sessions.
- High attention to detail with a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset.
- Cert IV in Work Health and Safety (minimum)
- RTW Coordinator certification (or willingness to obtain)
