Your background may be in manufacturing rather than agriculture, but if you're an experienced operational leader who knows how to build high-performing teams within a manufacturing environment, improve production and manage the commercial realities of a busy operation, this could be an opportunity worth exploring.
An established Australian agribusiness is seeking an experienced
manufacturing or production leader to take responsibility for its Toowoomba-based operation. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this is a broad leadership position encompassing production, warehousing, logistics and administration. You'll be responsible for the performance of the operation, its people and its financial outcomes, while working closely with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
While agribusiness experience would be advantageous,
strong manufacturing experience is essential. We're particularly interested in leaders who have successfully managed production environments and understand what it takes to improve productivity, control costs, develop people and deliver consistently for customers.
The Role - Lead and develop production, warehouse, transport and administrative teams;
- Drive productivity, operational efficiency and profitability across the site;
- Take ownership of P&L performance, budgeting and cost control;
- Lead a proactive safety culture and ensure legislative and regulatory compliance;
- Monitor operational performance and provide reporting and insights to senior leadership;
- Identify and implement process improvements across productivity, quality and service;
- Work with supply chain and procurement to optimise inventory and production planning;
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and the broader agricultural community.
About You You'll be an experienced
manufacturing or production leader with a proven track record managing operational performance in a manufacturing environment.
Your background might include titles such as Manufacturing Manager, Production Manager, Operations Manager, Site Manager or a similar senior operational position.
You'll bring:
- Demonstrated leadership experience within manufacturing operations — this is essential;
- Ideally, experience within agribusiness or FMCG, although this is not essential;
- Strong commercial acumen and experience managing operational and financial performance;
- Proven experience leading medium-large, diverse teams;
- A track record of improving productivity, processes and operational performance;
- Experience implementing continuous improvement and managing operational change;
- Sound knowledge of inventory management, logistics and production planning;
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels;
- Comprehensive knowledge of health, safety and compliance requirements within a manufacturing environment.
A tertiary qualification in Business Management will be highly regarded, but is not essential.
What You'll Receive - Competitive base salary + superannuation, commensurate with experience;
- Short-Term Incentive Bonus Scheme;
- Fully maintained company vehicle including fuel card;
- Professional development and membership opportunities;
- The opportunity to lead an established operation with strong connections to Australian agriculture.
If you're a proven manufacturing leader looking to broaden your scope and take responsibility for an operation that extends beyond the production floor, we'd like to hear from you.
