With a global platform and grass roots family vibe, our client seeks to engage a Trader Assistant with a genuine interest in animal and vegetable protein trading.  With a holistic approach, you will be afforded exposure to shipping documentation, assisting with the processing of contracts, forecasting and organising logistic requirements and in time, customer and supplier engagement, moving toward a Trader pathway.  

Responsibilities include:

• Providing support and assistance to all members of the Shipping, Export Documentation and Trade teams as required;
• Efficient and accurate creation and administration of all purchase and sales contracts;
• Studying, learning and evaluating varying market behaviours and other external factors that affect trade activities;
• Observing and assisting Traders with their everyday activities in order to learn and develop;
• Ensuring effective and efficient communication with staff, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders including, but not limited to government and industry bodies;
• Ensuring that corporate governance, quality assurance and statutory requirements are adhered to at all times;
• Generating various reports by gathering internal data and reporting on market analysis;

Success Profile:

Possessing tertiary studies within Agri/International Business or related discipline, coupled with a desire to forge a career within the sector, or have previous exposure in some regard and harbour an aspiration to further develop your career in this sector. You will also possess exemplary attention to detail, interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to articulate why you are passionate about your chosen path.  Comfortability working with various platforms and software packages is essential as is full unrestricted work rights.

Providing support to Trade Team with their endeavours to achieve trade targets and ensure smooth passage of all contracts in an ever-changing marketplace, you will nurture and strengthen relationships with suppliers, service providers, customers and staff members. Training will also be conducted in the shipping and documentation areas of the business as this opportunity provides the foundation to move into procurement, Junior Trader and Senior Trader positions in time.  In essence, if you aspire to be a trader, this is the pathway.
