About the Role: Reporting to the Site Manager, you will play a key role in fostering a culture of safety and compliance across the facility. You will be responsible for implementing WHS initiatives, ensuring safe work practices, and maintaining compliance with Queensland legislation in a fast-paced meat processing environment.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead and support all WHS activities across the site.
- Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and audits.
- Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and staff training.
- Maintain WHS policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Identify workplace hazards and implement effective control measures.
- Work closely with site leadership, production, and maintenance teams.
- Monitor and report on safety performance and compliance.
- Promote a proactive, safety-first culture across all levels of the organisation.
What We’re Looking For: - Previous experience in a WHS role, preferably in the food, abattoir, or FMCG industries.
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and regulations (Queensland).
- Ability to identify, assess, and control workplace risks effectively.
- Confident communicator with a hands-on, practical approach.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Proactive attitude toward continuous improvement and safety culture.
Qualifications: - Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (mandatory).
- First Aid & CPR certification (preferred).
- Additional training in Incident Investigation, Risk Management, or Auditing (desirable).
- Valid driver’s licence (essential).
