About the Role We are seeking an experienced
Workshop Supervisor to lead day-to-day workshop operations and supervise a team of tradespeople and apprentices. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard while meeting production and maintenance targets.
You will be responsible for coordinating workflow, managing people and resources, and maintaining a safe, organised, and productive workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities - Supervise and support workshop staff, including trades, apprentices, and contractors
- Plan, allocate, and prioritise daily and weekly workloads
- Ensure all work is completed safely, on time, and to quality standards
- Enforce WHS policies, conduct toolbox talks, and promote a strong safety culture
- Monitor equipment condition, maintenance schedules, and breakdowns
- Liaise with management, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Oversee job documentation, timesheets, and reporting
- Support training, mentoring, and performance development of team members
- Maintain workshop housekeeping and compliance standards
Skills & Experience - Trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Fabrication, or related discipline
- Previous experience in a Workshop Supervisor or Leading Hand role
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Sound knowledge of WHS requirements and safe work practices
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, drawings, and schedules
- Strong organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Confident communication and decision-making ability
- Computer literacy for reporting and scheduling
